Great Baby Gift Alert
One of my favorite gifts to give a new mama is from UNDER THE NILE.
You may have seen the brand at Whole Foods.
The veggie crate and the fruit basket are the best.
My little man was lucky to receive all these fruits and vegetables when he was born.
Now in full on teething mode, Sonny is enjoying every bite.
If you loose a fruit or veggie you can buy it individually.
Mom's/Dad's out there you know this is amazing. Umm the "stoller drop".
You get back to the house and realize that they tossed the toy out and you missed it!
Looking back down the streets and someone has already moved it or taken it.
Ahhhh they are sneaky those little babies!
Hope everyone is having a great summer.
More posts soon.

Digging the China...
Stopped by Inheritance (you know my love for this store. It's seems that I always write about their china collections!) and saw this beautiful china hanging on the wall.
Also tea cups and creamers sitting pretty on the shelves.
Reichenbach china Blu Flou pattern.
Just gorgeous.
Summer veggies piled on one of these pieces would look great.
A wonderful gift for someone who likes to have dinner parties and serve food "family style".

FASHION FAV
While heading to Barney's (for a By Terry lip gloss pick me up) I just HAD TO go to the co-op section. I stumbled upon a brand I had not heard or seen before....L'Agence.
Could I be super out of the loop? Maybe? I have been dealing with spit up and burps.
I would say the clothes are a Phillip Lim mash up.
Pricey but pretty. Dresses and other casual pieces.
Check them out...just stunning.

Yes...I love pickles.
My dear chef of a husband brought me home pickles the other night.
He said he just knew I would want one. Man, he was right.
McClure's pickles. If you have not had one. Find them and enjoy.
The garlic dill are out of this world.
Pregnant or not a must for summer bbq's.

coming soon...AUSTIN update
sorry people...I have been in Austin in my producer role.
I had a short film at SXSW.
Super exciting times in Austin. The husband came for support. Real sweet.
Met up with a bunch of friends that were in town for work and play.
Per usual we ate our way through the city...
Will post some fun stores and restaurants in the next few days.

Dreaming and will be for awhile.
Simple yes, but perfect.
She also designed these beautiful clutches.
Sometimes I get wonderful expensive bag hand-me-downs. I do not complain one bit. However, I do think that some of the prices are a bit outrageous. So Sofia and Louis will have to wait.
But, in my wildest dreams I would get a surprise UPS package (or maybe FED EX?) and open the box to see this insanely pricey, wonderful bag that I would cherish forever. Or I will meet Sofia and she will give me the one she is carrying...That would be a dream come true!

Almond JOY!!!
Went to the Santa Monica Farmer's market this morning. My husband goes to many of the markets in town but Wednesday's Santa Monica market is pretty much the cream of the crop. I would say 90% of the vendors offer Organic produce. It really is a bounty of all things beautiful in California.
Vinny usually surprises me with some sort of goody from the market. He got me hooked on this fresh almond butter with honey. I spotted the vendor today and went to checkout what else they had to offer. Fat Uncle Farms sells all things ALMONDS. They had the best blistered almonds in a bunch of fabulous flavors. After almost overdosing on the samples I decided on Garlic&Herb and a bag of Cinnamon.
They are a small operation only serving California markets. Their website site has a link to recipes like the almond filled chocolate cups above and almond crust for tarts. People outside LA...not to worry they do have an online store. I am sure you could call them and ask to ship stuff to you too.

Gelato at Terroni
I don't know how people can not have a "sweet tooth". Like when I meet people and start talking about my favorite dessert and they say, "yeah, I am not that into dessert." What? Are you human?Terroni is one of my very favorite spots to eat traditional southern Italian food in Los Angeles. A great interior designed setting compared to another all time favorite Madeo. But, recently after having another great meal at Terroni my husband and I had their Gelato.
We had it once before which was the reason for the repeat. It comes from a "special guy in the Valley". Sketchy...but fabulous. The best Hazelnut gelato I have eaten outside of Italy. Trust me, I ate a LOT of gelato in Italy.
So next time you are having some pizza or diving into a beautiful bowl of handmade pasta at Terroni save room for dessert!

Post Globe Party Dresses

These girls rocked the after parties.
Overall I think Emma Roberts(in Julien MacDonald) has a very age appropriate sense of style. Camille Belle(in Armani) and Kate Bosworth(Burberry with a shout out to her Jewelmint bracelet) are really cool with their killer clutch purses!! Natalie was simple and pretty in an Azzaro mini and FLATS!! She really is a smarty pants.
If you are still itching for some post game on the actual red carpet head to Pretty Mommy for some smart commentary.
Just give me some time to breathe before the Oscars!!

Sally Hansen Kills it.

So I was reading one of my magazines and saw an add for these Sally Hansen Salon Effects "Polish Strips". I did some googling and only found some girls doing instructional videos on youtube. I am not a "nail" girl. I have short nails all the time. But, with my new hair do I feel inspired to have some polish on my nails. So I decided to venture out to my local CVS and see if they had hit the stores. I looked all around and was just about to give up hope when I asked a sales associate if she had heard of the product. She was jazzed and told me I had walked right past them. Duh. When showing me the spinning display case she mentioned how all the girls at CVS loved this product. Enough said.
I bought a few different colors because they were already running low. Thought I would stock up in case they became a new favorite product.
Basically they are like these GEL nails that everyone keeps raving about except
A.) you do it yourself and B.)it's $10.50
It's pretty easy. Like sticker polish for your nails. The strips come with a cuticle stick and a mini file. You are all set. It takes some mastering but trust me, it is not hard.
Colors are a little wacky but they do have plain red. I decided to go funky to start and have BLUE ICE on my nails. What's cool is if I hate them by Friday I can use nail polish remover to take it off. The true gem on these is spending $10 verses Gel nails that are $40.
I will keep you posted later this week on how they are holding up.

Neil Lane for Kay

Got you with diamonds this time huh? These are PRETTY. They are Neil Lane's designs for Kay Jewelers! What?? "Every Kiss begins with K?!!!" Yes. So you can wave your stunning ring around for WAY less then his normal priced jewels and still say, "it's by Neil Lane".
There are at least 30 rings on the site. I picked some of my favorites. Some are a little, "intense". My way of politely saying, "too much". The prices are good. He is using his famous art deco design work and 14K white gold. Thank you C Magazine for leading me to this bedazzled discovery. I really do love jewels.

A quick bite in the heart of Melrose Ave

I got you all with that picture of cheese right? I wanted to give a little shout out to a great little wine and cheese, soup and salad place here in LA.Froma on Melrose is smack in the middle of Melrose right by the Paul Frank store(which by the way is moving and having a BIG sale) and close to one of my favorite shops in all of LA....Creatures of Comfort.
So head to Froma when you need a snack or you are looking for some of the BEST cupcakes in town (Francine, the owner, will not spill on where they come from!).

Paris Tea obsession

We fell in love with Kusmi Teas while in Paris. I have the muslin tea bags which are sometimes too darn pretty to throw away! The tea packaging and their stores are stunning.BE COOL is a blend of verbena, peppermint and liquorice that helps calm the nerves. Kusmi has a great online site. They also have a store in NYC and their products are sold at Dean and Deluca and other specialty food stores.
My Little Two Cents: A set of teas always makes a great host gift.

Sofia's fancy hotel Rec's
Thanks for all the love on the new do!! Some of you asked me via blog (and outside the www) how to get in touch with my friend who cuts my hair. I have to check with her before handing out the info. Hope you all understand.Onward to the cool little gem I came across today. Nowness.com has Sofia Coppola's favorite hotel suite recommendations for around the globe. There is also some sweet pictures and a small interview from the set of her new movie SOMEWHERE.
Hope 2011 has started out with fun surprises and lots of love.
If not, deep breathes. We have awhile until 2012 rolls into town.

my new do for a new year

I did it.
The pixie cut. The short short do. The "I have to dress pretty or really stylish to avoid looking like a 12 yr old!"
Some inspiration above, but overall it's my own thing. Thanks to my friend Morgan who is a dear friend and the best with hair both in film and fashion.
Here is to dressing cute, girly, fun and being happy and healthy in 2011.

paper trail

I saw this box set as a "trend" in Teen Vogue magazine.
Yes, every now and again I read Teen Vogue. Don't be fooled. That small little mag is jam packed with fashion goodness!
Kate Kenzie makes an awesome box set. As you know I love me some stationary. This set has 50 cards housed in a navy or yellow lacquered box. Refills are available when you run out.
So grab a pen pal or enjoy writing your holiday thank you notes on these sweet cards.

100 LayerCake finally becomes a .com

My favorite wedding blog has now become a website! After 2 years of work on their platform they have officially launched. You may remember my little wedding featured on their blog. Or my thoughts on wedding food!
The women behind this site are AWESOME and I really trust all their finds. Part of their site is a marketplace. Remember when you were super excited about your DIY decision to make all your place card holders? Now you have a 200 and they are in a box taking up needed space in your closet. 100Layer Cake.com has a section where you can sell off your multiples. How cool?
Vendor lists and DIY resources make up the rest of the site.
Congrats ladies. I am spreading the word.

Valentino Dresses

We all have many things to be thankful for right? Meaningful non-materialistic things. Family, friends and our health....right?Well how about Valentino designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli? Will you take a look at these dresses??!!! and the Shoes!! I am loving the hunter green with the bows.
Natalie Portman wore this fabulous dress on Letterman the other night. Maybe a little to "cute" on her but still ballsy to wear that color on TV.
Happy Thanksgiving. Be thankful for food, family and friends.

Chip Alert
Back in 1992 as a devoted camper at Robindel in NH, my snack of choice was Cool Ranch Doritos and a Gingerale. That was my jam.As I mentioned in past posts I love going to any market and trying something new. Usually a product catches my eye and I grab it.
This week it was LATE JULY'S brand new chips!! I saw these called DUDE RANCH and opened the bag in the car. I literally freaked out and almost ate the whole thing. A healthier COOL RANCH!!
The best part is that 10% go to The American Camp Association. Helping kids in need with summer camp scholarships.
