Please Bear with Us....
Another lesson learned from my backyard wedding was being nice to your neighbors. My wonderful friend and wedding planner Kimberlee Bendeck was quick to let us know we should leave a note for our neighbors letting them know about the festivities. A note is necessary for any party where ones neighbors could be annoyed by loud music or parked cars. Some weddings at people's home consist of having valet parking, tent drop off and overall set up for more then a day. Kim said it would be nice to write a cute note like, "Please bear with us. My daughter is getting married tomorrow night. We appreciate your patience. " Including a chocolate bear from our local candy store was an added gesture, and I must admit a really cute one.
Important to remember whatever note or gift you leave: If you have a wedding planner include their contact information...NOT YOUR number. The last thing you want to be dealing with hours before your wedding day are your neighbors complaining about cars in front of their driveway. If you don't have a planner then leave a responsible friend or family member's contact information. A person who can handle any situation that comes up with the neighbors.
