Think Seasonal/Local

What's Fresh Near You?

Living in southern California eating seasonally and locally is less of a challenge then let' say, Illinois. But, you can still do it..or at least grab a few seasonal items from your local farmer's market or grocery store. The Natural Resources Defense Fund (NRDC) is a great resource. They have a feature on their site that you punch in the time of year, what state you are in and it gives you the produce that is local and available to you. Another wonderful resource is Local Harvest. This links you to your local farmer's markets and Community Supported Agriculture (CSA'S) where they can deliver local produce and products from farmers. Get your fingers punching on those computer keys and find out what is fresh near you!
