a sweet wedding present

I just received a wedding gift. They are coming in fast.
Our one year anniversary is this weekend.

It was a fancy cookie jar with a cute note attached,
"wishing you a sweet life". I thought it was different and charming.

Find a jar to send to your favorite new married couple:

russell+hazel

Bought these post it note/to do stickies from russell+hazel at Sugar Paper the other day. I love them. So I went onto their website to check out what other great stuff they made....
Turns out I totally missed the boat. They have a wedding binder. My dreams did come true!!!
I wish I had it for my big day.
They have wedding templates!! For free....PDF's...Especially great if you don't have a wedding planner. They have table layouts, budgets etc...The binder has sticky notes, planning notebook and business card holders.
If you are newly engaged....this binder looks like the best thing out there to keep you sane.

P.S I hit 100 posts. Clap clap. I think that is cool. Thanks for reading my blog and please spread the word. I will keep posting as long as people are still reading. Will you still be a fan of SH??

current favorite stationary

A dear friend gave me G.Lalo correspondence cards in crisp white to write my wedding thank you notes. I loved them so much that I went out and bought other colors... At the moment I almost can't use anything else. Some of the sets come in beautiful canvas boxes...the colors and edges of the paper are divine. They are available online and if you are in LA checkout Johnathan Wright...

I mean look at this set....

rack it up

A simple dish rack. I did not register for one of these....and came to realize pretty quickly that I needed one. I had lived in my apartment without a dishwasher for over 9 years. I relied heavily on my dish rack. But, when moving into a home with a dishwasher I thought I would not use it as much. Man was I wrong.
Rubbermaid and Simple Human makes some great ones available at stores like Crate and Barrel and Williams Sonoma. Or try to find a Vintage wire one.
Start drying and stacking today...

Espresso please...I mean Nespresso.

Alrighty....this machine saved the day. If you like to have an cappuccino, latte or anything from a fancy coffee house like, Intelligensia, Urth Cafe or even dare I say Starbucks...you should invest in one of these machines.

This falls into the big birthday present, engagement gift or wedding present category. It is not an inexpensive machine. But, use it enough and it will pay for itself. We got this as a gift and I used it all weekend while my family was in town. Wow. New morning ritual.

Nespresso makes this one pictured above. It makes an espresso shot and has a built in milk frother (they also make a separate frother for just the simple espresso machine). They come with capsules that you pop in the top and a deliciously perfect espresso shot comes out. Then you mix that with some sugar or sweetener and add the frothed milk. I became a true barista.

Rents in Town...

Our first visitors...excited and nervous. The house is coming along but by no way done.
They are here through the weekend so that means I am taking a break from my posts and paying attention to having the family in town. Thrilled to have them use one of our wedding gifts(photos above). It will be placed on the nightstand.

If you live in LA. Enjoy this summer like weather. It's crazy. Went from heat at night to A/C in the day.

See you next week.
