the burlap sack guy

First time putting video on my blog...hope this works...
I watched this the other day...
Steve Airhart, former Oyster fisherman now entrepreneur, bought these burlap sacks from coffee suppliers and then sold them to seafood distributors specifically Oyster fisherman. Now, with the oil spill and Oyster fisherman loosing money everyday he is left with almost 13,000 burlap sacks and needs to sell them or close his business.

Can't the DIY community find something to do with those sacks??

Extra: the accompanying New York Times article...

Have a great weekend....and let me know if you have any ideas....

  1. I just saw the piece and googled Steve's business. There are so many diy uses for these bags! I'd make market bags, draperies, and various art projects from them. Please post contact info for this business!
