The Green Machine

Eat your salad. Eat your vegetables. I know that people have heard phrases like these throughout their lives. Eating greens like Kale and Swiss Chard are seriously good for you. Can anyone really get enough vitamin A or iron? In the winter time (yes even in sunny CA) mustard greens and collard greens are a huge presence at farmer's market's. I recently wrote a post about Kale Soup and how easy it was to prepare. If you don't have time to cook and want your veggie boost try one of these quick fixes to get your green on:

The Bottle:
Warning: This may not be the cheapest route. Most of the bottle drinks range these days from $4 to $6. Also they don't really have the color thing going for them. Selling a green drink that looks like you are about to taste every veggie in the garden is not appealing to most. But, some of the companies making these green drinks mix a fruit juice in for overall taste and more health benefits. I like the taste and combination in the Naked Juice's "Green Machine". Bolthouse Farms makes one called, "The Green Goddess". They also have "The Vedge". This seems to have a real V8 vibe.

The Juicer:
The old school way is to juice your own. Which I plan to do with my recently opened wedding gift... a juicer!!!

Do you have a favorite bottled green? or a your own personal blend made by a juice machine?
